Who I Am

kendra myers coxMy name is Kendra Cox, and I’m running for Roswell City Council, Post 6.

I grew up in Roswell and returned a few years ago.  After becoming active in various local issues, an idea that had been in my mind since middle school began to take shape, and to become reality: I want to be part of this city that I love, and I want to help it move forward.

As the weeks pass, you’ll hear more from me in various forums, and I look forward to hearing from you.  Thank you for taking time to learn what I’m all about, and what you can expect from me as your representative on City Council!

  1. I live in Horseshoe Bend in E.Roswell. Our traffic is unbelievable. There are 10 huge apartment projects.
These feed into our local schools and decrease our property values, because people check the schools .
Holcomb bridge road, where these apartments are located does not have sidewalks, while they are taking up Roswell’s sidewalks and putting in brick one. The density in almost unbearable and yet the City of Roswell is seeking to increase our density. I would very much be interested in your comments. Thanks ,

    • Hi Charles, and thank you for commenting. As you might imagine, I’m deeply concerned about the UDC’s potential to increase density without considering impacts on our infrastructure — the streets and the schools, as you mention, as well as our public safety and other services. It’s critical to take a “big picture” approach when we talk about development and redevelopment so that we improve areas that need improving while we support Roswell’s quality of life. We have to find balance and take a measured approach to growth so that we don’t, simply put, choke. Roswell is a wonderful place to live — that’s why people keep coming, and stay — but we have to remember WHY it’s so wonderful, and ensure that we make those things our priorities.
