Party Time!

We had a busy weekend, and the centerpiece was a wonderful party hosted by Chipper and Jennifer Gronholm.  I can’t thank them enough!

I had a chance to talk with folks with long histories in Roswell and with folks who used to live in Roswell, but don’t anymore.  Their perspectives on Roswell’s ups and downs are extremely instructive and thought-provoking.  Those conversations got me thinking, it’s not enough for people to enjoy visiting Roswell for a festival or a meal on Canton Street.  We want people to commit to our city and put down roots.  What makes people stay?  And what drives them to leave?

The more I hear from current and former residents from a range of backgrounds and ages, the more I am convinced that Roswell’s future depends on protecting our quality of life.  Welcoming exciting new growth and opportunity without forgetting what makes us special and unique.  Insisting on a common-sense, “big picture” approach to development and redevelopment.
