Last Thursday, Alive After Five kicked the weekend off right! This fantastic community event is a great example of how Roswell is bursting at the seams with creativity and energy!
Alive After Five is in its eighth year. For the last two years, my family and I have gravitated toward Alive After Five’s newer partner, Alive at the Square, where the atmosphere is upbeat, yet relaxed. We graze at the food trucks, dance to the bands, and marvel at how kids have endless energy as they bounce, roll, boogie, and get face painted, hair braided, and temporary tattooed. Roswell offers something for everyone on the third Thursday of each month in the spring, summer, and early fall.
Both the Canton Street and Square events show what can be accomplished when committed people put their heads together. Our small businesses collaborated to build Alive After Five – the sponsors of the event run the gamut, and they all have in common a dedication to our corner of Georgia. When Alive After Five was booming, some smart, driven folks took the next step and asked, “you know what we need?” – and Alive at the Square was born.
Our Thursday at the Square was all about connecting with old friends and making new ones. We agreed that “this is what Roswell is all about:” multiple generations converging in a spot that is so special to us all to spread out a blanket, have some fun, and enjoy a beautiful afternoon. This connectedness and community defines “home,” and it makes Roswell unique.
There’s one more Alive After Five/Alive at the Square on October 17th. Don’t miss it! Find out more here: http://www.aliveafterfiveroswell.com/ Many thanks for the hard work that makes it happen.
